Welcome
Welcome to my personal website. This site is an ongoing experiment, a creative outlet, and a source of entertainment (and occasionally frustration). I aim to update it often, rolling out new designs, updated looks, and new content. However, all of this takes time, and I don't always have an abundance of that. Now that I've got that out of the way...
Who Am I?
So who is Garrett McCutcheon, anyway? I'm not going to give you the resumé version, because you can get that elsewhere on the site (see links to the right). This is going to be the more personal version. An introspective, perhaps. We shall see. I'm 21 years old. Which is fun, at least for now. I'm still in school in upstate NY in a place called Troy. Which is fun sometimes. The school is RPI. It's fun all the time. I do a lot at school, and it definitely keeps me busy. I'm a member of RPI's best and only improv comedy troupe, Sheer Idiocy. I love every minute of it. I work for the Admissions Office, which helps to pay the bills and pass the time. I'm a gamer, a web developer, a musician, and an actor. Among other things. Life is busy. Most recently I've become an amateur photographer (though I like to think I've got some experience). Which leads me to...
The Photo Galleries
As you can see to the right, I have some photo galleries. Thats where I post the best of the photos that I have taken. All of the photos in these galleries are shown as-shot, with no post-processing at all. Call me a purist or an elitist, but post-processing these photos would take away from the natural beauty of the scenes. I recently purchased a Nikon D60 dSLR along with two lenses, a Nikkor 18-55mm VR DX and a Nikkor 55-200mm VR DX. I'm very much into HDR photography, so I'll be making and posting those in the galleries as well. My plan is to organize the galleries into different photo shoots, and then possibly also do a "Best Of" gallery and an HDR gallery when I have enough photos to justify it.
